Review: “Dr. Larry Burk’s Let Magic Happen is surely one of the most fascinating autobiographical accounts ever written by a physician. I could not put it down. Dr. Burk describes how he passed through the eye of the needle, going from a dedicated materialist—a radiologist, no less—to a physician whose expanded vision of healing includes not only the body but consciousness and spirit as well. Burk leaves nothing out; he describes his epiphanies as well as the slings and arrows he encountered. This is a study in courage—the journey of a physician who adores science but who realizes there are other sources of wisdom as well. For a sneak preview of the physician and the medicine of the future, read this book. Oh, and buy a copy for your doctor too.”
—- Larry Dossey, M.D., author of Healing Words and Reinventing Medicine

More Reviews:
“Larry Burk, M.D., has been a pioneer in using the imaging technology of modern medicine combined with ancient healing techniques. Let Magic Happen is a wonderfully honest and uplifting look at what it takes to create good medicine and true healing using all the wondrous modalities available to us.”
—- Christiane Northrup, M. D., author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

Let Magic Happen recounts the course of Larry Burk’s fascinating career, as he evolves from the confines of a traditionally trained physician, to his recognition of paranormal phenomena and the science behind them,  and finally to his experimentation with the methods of both modern and ancient energy healing. Through personal anecdotal accounts, he ventures into a plethora of topics, from the medically related issue of intuitive diagnosis, to the entertaining enigma of spoon bending, to the age-old question of the survival of consciousness after bodily death. He concludes by offering the reader a spectrum of exercises to facilitate their own psychic experiences, and bring the “magic” he has found into their own lives!
—-Sally Rhine Feather, Ph.D., executive director emeritus, Rhine Research Center and author of The Gift: ESP, the Extraordinary Experiences of Ordinary People

Dr. Larry Burk takes us on his amazing journey where step by step he was guided to bridge the gap between traditional medicine and holistic practices. Surrendering to intuitive guidance, one synchronistic event after another led to his learning new non-linear techniques. This book is just what the doctor ordered for anyone needing the encouragement and strength to step out of a familiar work space and/or belief system to explore a realm filled with unconventional practices that has the potential of culminating in sensational healing results.
—-Marcia Emery, Ph.D., author of PowerHunch! Living an Intuitive Life and The Intuitive Healer

Larry Burk is a true visionary, and one of the elemental forces in the emergence and early development of Integrative Medicine in the Duke Health System.  In part, this book is about those early days, and for that alone is an informative and entertaining read. And, besides being a fascinating window into medical history, the book also depicts Larry’s own journey of growth and transformation.  His personal “seeker’s journey,” which he beautifully describes, recalls the journey of all who wish to make the world a better place, and to walk a path by which they might discover the deepest meaning and value in their own life.
—-Jeff Brantley, M.D., director of the Duke Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program and author of Calming Your Anxious Mind

In Let Magic Happen, Larry Burk allows us to accompany him on his journey from the conventional to the metaphysical. His path from MRI interpretation to intuitive diagnosis is symbolic of the shift in medicine from a focus on disease processes to an understanding of the energetic root causes of disease. It’s a fascinating journey, and Burk shows us how to take our own—if we are willing.
—-Thomas Hudson, M.D., diagnostic radiologist and author of Journey to Hope

Too Much Body Voltage: Visiting the Great Pyramid

This chapter begins with my discovery that there is excess voltage passing through my bed at night which may contribute to my insomnia and restless legs.  Cutting off the circuit breaker to the bedroom before going to bed partially alleviates the symptoms and sends me on a quest to find the latest research on electromagnetic fields and health. The most recent studies show evidence of a link between cell phones and brain tumors. I start experimenting with modern Earthing technology and discuss an ancient method of grounding heavy energy from the Incas.  I explore BioGeometry developed by an Egyptian architect and take a trip to Egypt to fulfill my dream of going inside the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid.
